Two software engineers, two desks, one quiet spark. They built things for a living — neither knew they were quietly building something far more important. What started as a friendship felt, from the very beginning, like it was written in the stars.
A sky full of stars, a city full of light
Their first long drive — winding roads, a cold breeze rolling through the windows, and the whole of Los Angeles glittering below. Standing on the Griffith Observatory terrace, stars scattered above and the city shimmering beneath, a chill in the air and warmth between them, they both quietly knew this was more than just a drive.
Enter Simba
They hadn't planned to fall in love with a dog. But then Simba arrived — floppy-eared, tail always going, and completely certain he belonged between them on the sofa. Fostering him taught them something neither expected: they were already a family, just waiting for the right moment to admit it.
Too beautiful to let go
They weren't entirely sure. But they were sure enough. Letting go of something this warm, this easy, this right — that felt far more foolish than the leap itself. In a quiet little apartment in San Diego, they chose each other.
Pizza with a mountain view
One car. Two hearts. The entire Pacific Northwest ahead of them. Hurricane Ridge in the snow, the Oregon coastline roaring below clifftops, hikes that pushed them further than they planned — and every mile brought them closer. They laughed, got lost, and fell a little harder for each other with every turn in the road.
Then came Courage
Courage came with a big personality and even bigger challenges. He pushed them, tested them, and asked more of them than they expected. But in navigating it all together — the hard days, the breakthroughs, the small victories — they discovered something quietly extraordinary: they made a great team. He didn't just need them. He built them.
